2019 – Current

  • Oversees development on Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality projects for public safety communications research at NIST in the UI/UX portfolio. Primary tasks include creating production schedules, running sprint meetings, art reviews and filling in for various development roles such as environment art, technical art and pipeline development. Other tasks include communicating between the development team and NIST leadership as well as giving tours and demos to showcase XR to the general public and first responders.

  • Created multiple virtual reality demos to showcase the potential of VR for public safety use cases. I was in charge of designing and prototyping the virtual scenarios to use as demonstrations for stakeholders. I also traveled to various conferences to demonstrate the VR prototypes to stakeholders in order to showcase the effectiveness of Virtual Reality for training and testing.

Building Virtual Reality for Public Safety                                                                           

  • I gave a joint presentation at XRDC 2019 in San Francisco. My portion of the presentation covered how we built and optimized our VR SWAT simulation in Unreal Engine for public safety. The full presentation and slides can be found on the GDC vault.
